SketchUp Session for Beginners
DATE: Saturday 16th February and Saturday 23rd February (this session runs over two consecutive Saturdays)
TIME: 10am to 4pm
You don’t need to be good at drawing in order to show your clients a clear representation of your brilliant design. A few tips and tricks in SketchUp goes a long way. Start using SketchUp the right way before developing bad habits.
SketchUp is a free computer software that allows you to communicate in 2D or 3D drawings. Quickly turn your floorplans into three-dimensional rooms, drop in some cool furniture or create a custom kitchen. SketchUp is a valuable tool to ‘wow’ your clients and allow them to see your design vision. When they can see it, they will understand it and want it!
Learn how to navigate in a three dimensional interface, create walls, insert doors and windows in this beginner session. Examples of how SketchUp is used specifically for interior design are shown and the basics explained. A few useful tips are demonstrated in this session, with the small group of six allowing for each student having hands-on time with Lauren. Ideal for those who have never used a 3D or drafting software before, this is bringing it back to basics.
You will develop a scale model of a room suite and bathroom complete with furnishings, materials. The tools you learn are easily applied to your own interior design projects.. You will impress yourself!
Learn how to export 3D images of the room, plan views and internal elevations.
Apply custom materials, floor rugs and artwork to your model.
Take away a live SketchUp file of a kitchen, with useful components such as furniture, decor and hardware that designers love to use for a professional looking model.
One months access to the Sessions Facebook Group where you can ‘ask me anything’
A delicious pizza lunch (please advise of dietary requirements), wine (let’s get creative!), and complementary all day tea and refreshments from our apartment kitchen.
